“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”

About Elise Stark

Training and Specialties

I’ve had the privilege of providing therapy for over a decade, since graduating from Regent University with a master’s degree in counseling.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the State of California and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist-Consultant, and I have specialties in eating disorders, trauma, Christian-informed therapy, depression and anxiety.

My Mission

My mission in life is to be a catalyst for others’ hope and healing.

I’ve seen life be messy, painful, chaotic, hilarious, ironic, confusing… dark and light and everywhere in between.

I don’t believe in clichés or easy answers. I believe in the hard (but rewarding!) work of courageous vulnerability, authentic connection, feeling the feelings, rewriting old narratives, unconditional self-compassion and other-compassion, and wild, unrelenting hope.

When I’m Not Doing Therapy

When I’m not working, I love to play beach volleyball, go for hikes, and start good books with every intention of finishing them.
