“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”

About Mary Frances Dunlap

Training and Specialties

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California and have been with the practice since 2022. I help clients of all ages set healthy boundaries, communicate their needs and desires, and move towards thriving in the relationships that matter most to them.

I especially enjoy working with parents navigating the ins and outs of raising children and teenagers, professionals managing high stress careers, and creatives seeking to better understand their stories. As clients desire, I welcome the integration of the Christian narrative into our time together.

Prior studies took me to Fuller Theological Seminary (M.S., Marriage and Family Therapy), the University of St. Andrews (M.Litt., Theology and the Arts), and Rhodes College (B.A., Political Science).

My Mission

I have come to believe that the hard work that invites fresh hope, perseverance, and lasting change takes place as we are deeply seen, honored, and known in relationships of trust and vulnerability.

As a therapist, it is my joy to bear witness to the stories my clients are living, as we consider together how they can make sense of the past and live into the future with greater freedom.

When I’m Not Doing Therapy

I’m captivated by the beauty of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Pacific Ocean and spend as much time outdoors as I can, often with family and friends.
